Indian Magic is classic crab-apple, which looks good all year round.
In spring the long-lasting blossom is a very pretty solid dusky pink, contrasting with the small green-bronze leaves.
In autumn the tree is clothed in tiny berry-like fruits which are an almost fluorescent pink/orange colour on dark November days - and particularly popular with blackbirds. In a good autumn (with sunny days and cold nights) the leaves will be an attractive orange-red too.
The tree grows with a pleasing upright-spreading shape which makes it particularly suitable as a feature tree.

Indian Magic is easy to grow, with good all-round disease-resistance. It is also very cold-hardy, able to withstand temperatures well below those normally experienced in the UK.
Indian Magic was raised by the Simpson Nursery of Vincennes, Indiana, and released in the 1950s.
Illustrative example of a pot-grown tree of this variety as supplied. Approximate girth: 6/8cm. We try to keep all pot-grown trees down to about 1.5m as supplied, but some may be larger. Trees should reach their mature height after about 10 or more years. We may also have 1-year bare-root trees of this variety - they are not shown here.
We list more than 40 different crab-apple trees. Choosing can be difficult! See our article explaining the different characteristics of crab-apple trees which will help you narrow down the selection.
