Amber Beauty

Prunus maackii

Amber Beauty is a selection of Prunus maackii, named for the lustrous brown colour of its bark. The dense blossom forms in clusters and contrasts with the fresh green leaves which appear about the same time.

As the tree matures the bark on the main stem develops a peeling flaking appearance.

The small cherry-like fruits are not suitable for humans but attractive to birds.
