Black Swan

Fagus sylvatica

Black Swan is a Purple Beech, named for the intense near-black colour of its summer leaves. The leaves take on orange tints in the autumn,

Black Swan will reach about 6m after 10-20 years, and grows with a weeping cascading habit. It is suitable for most soils and situations, but does not tolerate coastal salt winds.

For the best results plant in full sun - the dark purple leaf colours will tend to revert to dark green if they are in shade.
