Golden Gem is a well-known crab-apple featuring bright white spring blossom followed by yellow crab apples in the autumn.
Most crab apples are good pollinators of mainstream apple varieties but Golden Gem is especially good because of the quantity, timeliness and compatibility of its pollen. Its flowering should co-incide with apples in flowering groups 3 and 4.
