This attractive small shrub-like tree is grown mainly for its multi-coloured leaves. The leaves emerge in spring tinged with pink, before taking on a variegated appearance with creamy yellow base and green centres. In autumn the leaves turn to a purple-red.
The pale pinkn flower bracts appear in late spring.
Sunset will reach a mature height of 3m-4m, and similar spread. It readily becomes multi-stemmed.
Sunset is easy to grow as long as you can provide rich fertile soil which is either neutral or slightly acidic. Dogwoods do not like shallow or chalk soils.
