Golden Glory is a modern form of the the Cornelian Cherry (Cornus mas) and features larger cherry-like fruits, which ripen in late summer.
As with all forms of the Cornelian Cherry the fruitlets are bitter, and primarily used for culinary purposes.
The tree has plenty of ornamental appeal, with a profusion of small yellow flowers borne in late winter, followed by glossy green leaves.
Golden Glory grows best in neutral or slightly acidic soils. It cannot tolerate chalky soils. It should reach a height of about 3m in the longer term, and a similar spread.
