Iolanthe

Iolanthe is one of the most popular Magnolias.  It features a profusion of pale pink saucer-shaped flowers, with dark pink centres. It flowers from a young age.

Iolanthe grows with a spreading form, reaching a mature height of perhaps 4m and a spread of 3m.

    History

    Iolanthe was developed by New Zealand grower Mark Jury in the 1980s. It is a cross between Magnolia x soulangea Lennei and Magnolia Mark Jury.  Iolanthe has been used in the develpment of many new Magnolia varieties.
